COMFORTABLE JOGGERS - STYLED MY WAY

“Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants.”

I'd never leave the house in joggers (sweatpants) except for the gym. However, I think King Karl wasn't referring to the more sophisticated type of comfy trousers in silky soft-touch fabrics.

Recently I found these black trousers with contrasting side stripes at Zara's sale and couldn't resist but wanted to wear them right away. I love to style them with stilettos and a classy blazer in the warmer season but due to the snow today's look is more comfortable and practical with my favourite leather booties and a stretch blazer.

LÄSSIGE JOGGINGHOSE - WIE ICH SIE MAG

"Wer eine Jogginghose trägt, hat die Kontrolle über sein Leben verloren" ein Ausspruch Karl Lagerfelds aus dem Jahr 2012.

Ich käme auch nie auf die Idee, eine "richtige" Jogginghose außerhalb meiner eigenen 4 Wände oder des Fitness Studios zu tragen. Insofern hat King Karl natürlich völlig echt, das geht für mich gar nicht. Aber ich glaube nicht, dass er dabei die sehr viel stilvollere, lediglich vom Schnitt her an Jogginghosen angelehnte Variante in fließendem Material gemeint hat!

So eine Hose habe ich kürzlich im Sale bei Zara gefunden und wollte nicht warten bis ich sie in edlerem Styling mit Stilettos tragen kann, sondern zeige sie Euch heute vorab schon einmal mit Stiefeletten. Wichtig ist für mich dabei die Kombination mit einem Blazer, den Stilbruch finde ich bei diesem Hosentyp ganz wichtig. Dennoch ist es heute wetterbedingt ein etwas lässigerer Look, eine feinere Variante werde ich Euch vorstellen, wenn es das Wetter im Frühjahr erlaubt.

A STATEMENT IN RED

Until a couple of years ago I wore mostly black and neutral tones. Then I discovered and incorporated brighter colours into my wardrobe. I can't even say what my preference is as it all depends on my mood, the occasion and the weather.
Although it's nice and sunny, there aren't any colours out yet at this time of the year and I thought my bright red scarf (actually my photographer's!) is a perfect dash of colour, similar to my little red bag in my recent post.

Meeting fabulous women worldwide who share the same interest, listening to their personal views and cultural backgrounds and the support to each other is the most rewarding part of blogging. Interaction with fellow bloggers and loyal readers is crucial. For quite a while my lovely reader Sue from the States gives me great feedback on my posts and my style, here and on Facebook. Sue was kind enough to send me this lovely red statement necklace which her talented friend Patti of Patticake Bling made! Isn't that wonderful? So I am proudly wearing the necklace today together with my perfectly matching red scarf.

AKZENT IN ROT

Bis vor wenigen Jahren habe ich fast ausschließlich Schwarz und neutrale Töne getragen, erst dann habe ich kräftige Farben für mich entdeckt - Rot war völlig neu und jetzt bekomme ich immer viele Komplimente, wenn ich es trage. Ich kann auch gar nicht sagen, welche Farben ich am liebsten mag, es ist völlig abhängig von meiner Stimmung, Anlass und Wetter.
Nach wie vor trage ich gerne Schwarz, aber heute war mir danach, mit Rot einen kräftigen Akzent zu setzen, ähnlich wie neulich mit meiner kleinen roten Tasche. Meine Fotografin Jasmin war so nett und hat mir ihren Schal ausgeliehen, sie hat nämlich eine unglaubliche Sammlung ;-)

Schon oft habe ich erwähnt, wie toll ich es finde, über das Bloggen gleichgesinnte Frauen weltweit kennenzulernen, mich auszutauschen und mehr über sie zu erfahren. Der Kontakt mit anderen Bloggerinnen und meinen Leserinnen ist einfach unglaublich bereichernd. Seit einiger Zeit bekomme ich von meiner amerikanischen Leserin Sue regelmäßig Feedback zu meinen Posts hier und auf Facebook. Nun hat sie mich mit dieser roten Statement Kette überrascht, die ihre Freundin Patti von Patticake Bling selbstgemacht hat. Ist das nicht eine wunderbare Geste? Sehr gerne zeige ich sie heute, da sie einfach perfekt zu meinem Schal passt.

LONDON FASHION WEEK AS SEEN BY A 40+ BLOGGER

It's Fashion Week season - Berlin, New York, London, Paris, Milan.
Are you a blogger? Have you ever attended a fashion week? Is it "part of the job"?FOMO - Fear of missing out? Inspirational shows and exciting invites, pink macarons and champagne brunches and all the fun that is constantly covered on various Instagram accounts?

Personal experiences of London Fashion Week

Together with my daughter who studies Fashion Communication and Promotion at Central Saint Martins College and has a good understanding of fashion, I enjoyed some London Fashion Week feeling.

Street Style at Somerset House

Alena took lots of street style photos which have been published in ZOE Magazine for LFW Day #2 and Day #3.While there is unique and authentic street style, we have also seen an incredible amount of 'wannabes' whose entire focus was posing to get their photos taken. Either following the "blogger must-have look" = floppy hat, sunglasses, (sort of) Céline bag or dressed up really crazy for the occasion. Entertaining to watch for a couple of hours but then we had enough of the fashion circus around Somerset House!

It was freezing cold and I really felt like mum dressed practically in a warm coat and boots rather than a cropped top, bare legs and open heels on the cobblestone pavement...

Alena saw a couple of shows and I had the opportunity to attend the show by Mimi Tran with most elegant and fabulous evening wear and really loved the collection which had been presented in London's old Freemasons' Hall.

Burberry

Change of location: Burberry in Kensington Gardens. Different level, different style, different atmosphere.

While I felt quite invisible amongst the young crowd around Somerset House, of course I wasn't part of the important Burberry group either ;-) So we stood there in the icecold wind just to catch a little bit of the flair and spotted some celebrities and influencers including Suzie Menkes, Jourdan Dunn, Kate Moss and a super late Naomi Campbell who even missed part of the show...

We treated ourselves with lovely Afternoon Tea at the beautiful Orangerie in Kensington Gardens (see all my photos on Instagram) before we headed home in order to watch the live stream of the show. I was fascinated by the bohemian style, beautiful prints, fringes and warm colours - glad capes and ponchos will still be a big thing for the AW15 season!

BTW: No sponsored champagne and macarons for us but Alena and I certainly had one or two glasses to celebrate our precious time together! And I can't wait to be back in my favourite city as soon as possible. Without Fashion Week.

LONDON FASHION WEEK AUS SICHT EINER 40+ BLOGGERIN

Wart Ihr schon einmal auf einer Modewoche? Als BloggerIn? Gehört es dazu? Im Englischen spricht man auch vonFOMO - Fear of missing out / Angst, etwas zu verpassen. Was verpasst man wirklich? Inspirierende Shows, aufregende Einladungen, rosa Macarons und Champagner Frühstück - eben all das, was man in der Zeit auf Instagram sieht?

Meine persönlichen Eindrücke der London Fashion Week

Zusammen mit meiner Tochter, die Fashion Communication and Promotion am Central Saint Martins College studiert und somit einen guten Einblick in die Szene vor Ort hat, habe ich London Fashion Week Luft geschnuppert.

Street Style rund um Somerset House

Alena hat für das ZOE Magazin Street Style Fotos gemacht, die hier veröffentlicht wurden: LFW Day #2 und Day #3.Natürlich gibt es faszinierenden, individuellen Street Style, aber wir haben auch extrem viele sog. 'wannabes' gesehen, die krampfhaft um Aufmerksamkeit heischen und denen es um nichts anderes geht, als sich in Szene zu setzen und fotografiert zu werden. Entweder im typischen Bloggerlook, sprich Schlapphut, Sonnenbrille und einer Tasche, die einer Céline zumindest ähnlich sehen muss. Oder die andere Gruppe in möglichst verrückter Kostümierung, anders kann ich es kaum nennen. Das ist eine Zeitlang ganz amüsant anzusehen, doch nach wenigen Stunden hatten wir von diesem Modezirkus rund um das Somerset House wirklich genug!

Es war schrecklich kalt und mit warmem Mantel und Stiefeletten war ich eben ganz anders gekleidet als so manche Fashionista im kurzen Röckchen mit nackten Beinen in offenen Schuhen, möglichst mit Megaabsätzen, die auf dem Kopfsteinpflaster vor Ort einfach nur ruiniert werden konnten...

Alena konnte sich zwei, ich eine Show ansehen und zwar elegante Abendmode von Mimi Tran, die in einer faszinierenden Location, der alten Freemasons' Hall präsentiert wurde.

Burberry

Ortswechsel: Burberry in Kensington Gardens. Andere Kategorie, anderer Stil, andere Atmosphäre.

Während ich mich inmitten der jugendlichen Menge rund um Somerset House ziemlich unsichtbar gefühlt habe, gehöre ich natürlich genausowenig zur einflussreichen Gruppe rund um Burberry ;-) Also standen wir bei eiskaltem Wind vor den Absperrungen um etwas vom Flair rund um diese Show mitzubekommen und erhaschten Blicke auf Suzie Menkes, Jourdan Dunn, Kate Moss und eine viel zu spät kommende Naomi Campbell, die dadurch sogar den Anfang der Show verpasste...

Anschließend haben wir dann ganz stilgericht in der wunderschönen Orangerie in Kensington Gardens (hier gibt es alle Fotos auf Instagram) traditionellen Afternoon Tea genossen, bevor wir uns zuhause gemütlich die Show im Livestream angeschaut haben. Ganz tolle Teile im Bohemian Stil mit Muster, Fransen und warmen Farben für die nächste Herbst/Wintersaison. Und ich freue mich, dass Capes und Ponchos bleiben werden!

SEVENTIES STYLE INSPIRATION

I am back from London and had a most wonderful time! Have you read my post "London Fashion Week seen by a 40+ blogger"?My plan was to go back end of May but it appears I cannot wait that long but want to add an additional trip to my favourite city and daughter in April! BTW, I also have a favourite son but since he is studying in Germany he is not as far away as my daughter...

Flared jeans will be a big theme this spring/summer and while I mostly wear skinnies I find them a very flattering and fresh alternative and certainly a totally different style. I can't wait to wear them with sandals (heels are a must!) and a fancy boho top when it is getting warmer. For now I have tried a 70s inspired winter theme with booties and a black top with sheer trumpet sleeves.

I have recently mentioned that I am a big fan of Instagram - my account is theladyofstyle-and also see Sylvia of 40+ Style's post "The 40 most stylish midlife women on Instagram". It quickly became my favourite social media as it is truly "social"!
On Instagram I recently met Dani, a very creative woman who sells her beautiful handmade necklaces in her online store LADANIKA on DaWanda (a German platform similar to Etsy) and I was lucky enough to win the lovely necklace which I am wearing today. It just matches the style so well, doesn't it?

70ER JAHRE INSPIRATION

Ich bin zurück aus London, es war wie immer wunderbar! Habt Ihr meinen Post "London Fashion Week aus Sicht einer 40+ Bloggerin" gelesen?Eigentlich wollte ich Ende Mai wieder hin, aber ich glaube, so lange halte ich es nicht aus und daher recherchiere ich gerade schon Flüge, um im April noch einen kurzen Trip einzuschieben... schließlich ist es nicht nur meine Lieblingsstadt, sondern es geht um meine Lieblingstochter :-) Übrigens habe ich auch einen Lieblingssohn, aber er ist nicht ganz so weit weg und kann von seinem Studienort Bayreuth eher mal zwischendurch nach Hause kommen...

Flared Jeans sind diese Saison ein großes Thema und während ich sonst meistens Skinnies trage, sind ausgestellte Hosen eine besonders stylishe Alternative, die auch ganz anders kombiniert werden müssen als enge Hosen. Ich kann das Frühjahr wirklich kaum erwarten und dann werde ich diesen Hosentyp auch mit hohen (wichtig!) Sandalen und einem Boho Top kombinieren. Solange wir Schnee haben, müssen es Stiefeletten und mein schwarzes Shirt mit Trompetenärmeln aus Chiffon für einen 70er Jahre Touch sein.

Ich habe schon mehrfach erwähnt, dass ich Instagram liebe - ich bin dort unter theladyofstylezu finden. Sylvia von 40+ Style hat mich neulich in ihren Post "The 40 most stylish midlife women on Instagram" aufgenommen! Ich finde Instagram einfach unheimlich kommunikativ.
Dort habe ich kürzlich auch Dani kennengelernt, die Dank ihrer Kreativität tolle, individualisierbare Ketten in liebevoller Handarbeit fertigt und in ihrem DaWanda Shop LADANIKA verkauft. Im Gewinnspiel anlässlich ihrer Shoperöffnung hatte ich diese wunderschöne Kette gewonnen, die perfekt zu meinem heutigen Look passt!

SOME THINGS GET BETTER AS THEY GET OLDER

I am sure you also have clothes in your wardrobe which are almost as old as your children, right? I can't even remember when I bought this suede leather blazer from Hallhuber, a Munich based brand. Still loving it (shown here) as it is a versatile, timeless and classic piece of very good quality.

MANCHES WIRD IM ALTER BESSER - WIE MEINE WILDLEDERJACKE

Ich bin mir sicher, auch Ihr habt einige Teile in Eurem Kleiderschrank, die Ihr seit ewigen Zeiten habt und immer noch gerne tragt. Bei mir ist es z.B. dieser Wildlederblazer, den ich vor 15 bis 20 Jahren bei Hallhuber in München gekauft habe. Noch richtig im Laden, nicht im Onlineshop, wie ich es heute meistens tue!
Er ist klassisch, zeitlos und durch die neutrale Farbe sehr vielseitig zu kombinieren (hier schon einmal gezeigt).Leider habe ich vor einigen Jahren etliche sehr teure Teile weggegeben und trauere noch heute vielen davon nach...

Und ein gewisses Alter ist auch die perfekte Überleitung zu meinen beiden nächsten Themen:

STYLE MIX ELEGANT LEOPARD AND CASUAL DENIM

I love playing with different styles, especially dressing up or down my clothes. This style mix - depending on the occasion - can be more interesting than a purely elegant or an all casual look as it adds an unexpected touch.

My leopard skirt is such a versatile piece and today I was going for an easy look with my denim jacket. See my elegant version here and a winter fur styling here. For the office I'd simply replace the denim jacket with a classic black or beige blazer.

STIL MIX ELEGANT UND LÄSSIG IN LEO UND JEANS

Während ich früher meistens einen durchgängig eleganten Stil trug, habe ich nun meine Vorliebe für einen Stilmix und Stilbruch entdeckt. Lässige Hosen mit Pumps, schwarzes Kleid mit Stiefeletten, Jeans mit Seidenbluse... es muss natürlich zu mir passen, ich muss mich selbst dabei wohlfühlen. Distressed Jeans sind z.B. etwas, was ich an mir nicht mag, aber insgesamt bin ich durchaus experimentierfreudiger geworden. Vielleicht kommt demnächst eine neue Frisur dazu... mal sehen ;-)

Meinen Leo Stretchrock habe ich schon in einer eleganten Variante hier und in einem Winterlook mit Pelzweste hier gezeigt. Heute darf es eine legere Jeansjacke sein. Die kann ich natürlich ganz einfach gegen einen schwarzen oder beigen Blazer austauschen und dann im Büro tragen.

GERMAN 40+ BLOGGER MEETING

Yesterday I spent a wonderful day with my lovely German blogger friends Cla of Glam up your Lifestyle, Conny of A Hemad und a Hos, Susi of Texterella and Stephanie of Die Modeflüsterin (not pictured).
We met at Lake Starnberg, south of Munich. It is one of the most beautiful areas in Germany (unfortunately also one of the most expensive ones!) and I was lucky enough to live there for many years. It is only a short drive from where I live now and I am always happy to come back!

IT'S A GREY ZONE

It's a grey zone today - the landscape is lacking colours, the trees are yet without any green leaves and the remaining snow turned into a very dirty white hue... usually I want to beat that type of weather with colourful clothes but sometimes I am tired and not in the mood to take up the challenge!

So I tuned in with grey, black and dark blue and just set a few sparkling highlights with my embellished t-shirt (seen here in a colourful combination) and jewellery.
Denim skirts are around again this season and I am glad I still have mine from last summer - see my styling for warmer temperatures here. Paired with opaque tights and a blazer, I can also wear it during this transitional season.

IN DER GRAUZONE

In einer Grauzone bewegt sich heute nicht nur mein Outfit sondern auch die Landschaft: Völlig farblos, keinerlei Grün an den Bäumen, der alte Schnee ist mittlerweile schmuddelig Grau... Normalerweise setze ich dem dann gerne farblich kräftige Akzente entgegen, aber manchmal bin ich dazu einfach nicht in der Stimmung und ja, ich bin extrem wetterabhängig!

Daher blendet sich mein heutiger Look in Grau, Schwarz und Dunkelblau auch ganz in die Szenerie ein. Nur mein auffällig mit Schmucksteinen verziertes T-Shirt (hier mit viel Farbe kombiniert) und mein Schmuck setzen ein paar Highlights.
Jeansröcke sind ja immer noch oder wieder aktuell und ich bin froh, meinen aus dem letzten Sommer zu haben. Hier hatte ich ihn in einer Schönwetter-Variante gezeigt, heute passt er mit blickdichten Strümpfen und Blazer zur momentanen Jahreszeit.

MY BUSINESS LOOK

Although I always describe blogging as a "24 hrs job" I do have a regular fulltime job which requires getting dressed for the office early mornings.
I work in an international, multicultural, military environment with 85% male colleagues and visitors, most of them wear uniform. We don't have a strict dress code for civilians but I am dealing with a lot of visitors and a professional office attire is important but at the same time I don't want to give up my individual, female style.

I love wearing dresses and skirts to the office but my choice of clothes very much depends on the weather! We still have some snow left and at night temperatures are below 0C. Therefore it is easier to opt for trousers and a blazer which I am wearing today. For a classic office look you often see this paired with a white or light coloured blouse. Nothing wrong with it but personally I hardly ever wear that typical office attire as I don't like the double collar effect of the blouse and blazer. I prefer silky tops in various colours, sometimes with a pattern and often with short sleeves only as otherwise I get too warm in the office when I am wearing them under a blazer or a cardigan.

Accessories add the personal touch to your business look

Based on the colour of my top I choose my shoes and handbag. In winter I mostly rely on black shoes and boots but in summer I love to add a special touch with coloured heels. Jewellery is essential for me but today I only chose earrings as the chain collar already served as a necklace. Accessories help to create my individual, colour coordinated look.

MEIN BÜRO LOOK - EIN PROJEKT MIT DER MODEFLÜSTERIN

Auch wenn ich meinen Blog gerne als "24 Stunden Job" bezeichne, denn es ist immer etwas zu tun, abends, am Wochenende, unterwegs... habe ich natürlich einen "richtigen" Vollzeitjob. Morgens stehe ich also genauso wie die meisten von Euch vor dem Kleiderschrank um mich für den Arbeitstag fertig zu machen.

Ich arbeite in einem internationalen, multikulturellen, militärischen Arbeitsumfeld, meine Kollegen und Besucher sind zu 85% männlich, die meisten tragen Uniform. Obwohl es keinen festgeschriebenen Dresscode für uns Zivilisten gibt, gehört für mich ein professioneller Kleidungsstil am Arbeitsplatz einfach dazu, schon weil ich täglich mit zahlreichen, oft hochrangigen Gästen zu tun habe. Dabei möchte ich aber meinen eigenen, femininen Stil nicht aufgeben.

Ich trage gerne Kleider und Röcke im Büro, aber meine Kleidung ist sehr abhängig vom Wetter und da wir immer noch Schnee haben, sind Hosen momentan einfacher. Die Frage "Stiefel oder Pumps" hat sich hoffentlich sehr bald erledigt, in der kalten Jahreszeit nehme ich oft ein zweites Paar mit ins Büro.
Zu Hose und Blazer sieht man sehr häufig weiße oder helle Blusen, das ist der typische "Businesslook", den ich an mir nicht mag. Ich bevorzuge fließende, seidige Tops, oft mit kurzen oder halblangen Ärmeln. Lange Ärmel sind mir unter Blazern und Cardigans, die ich alternativ gerne trage, oft zu warm.

Accessoires machen den persönlichen Look aus, daher verzichte ich darauf nie!

Meine Schuhe und Handtasche wähle ich farblich passend zum Top. Im Winter sind es zwar meist schwarze Schuhe oder Stiefel, aber im Sommer kann man z.B. mit roten Pumps tolle Akzente sezen. Außerdem darf Schmuck bei mir nie fehlen, aber heute machte es mir das Top mit Glitzerrand einfach und ich habe nur passende Ohrringe ausgewählt.

DIE BUSINESS GARDEROBE

Mein heutiger Officelook ist Teil des Projektes "Business Capsule" von Stephanie auf ihrem Blog Die Modeflüsterin. 4 Bloggerinnen zeigen ihre individuellen Versionen eines typischen Bürolooks, manche haben auch mehrfach teilgenommen. Stephanie, die dieses Projekt organisiert hat, erklärt dazu detailliert Schritt für Schritt den Aufbau einer Büro Garderobe. Sehr lesenswert und hilfreich, denn sie zeigt, dass man morgens nicht stundenlang vor dem Schrank stehen muss...!

STYLE FOREVER

Styleguides... have you ever read one? To learn about these groundbreaking "10 essential pieces a woman needs to have?" A little black dress, a classic white blouse, a pair of straight cut jeans... you never knew that before, right? (Or you don't care anyway as you don't wear dresses.)

Well, I have a couple of those but the brand new Style Forever is - different! Very different! Alyson Walsh is not only "one of us" - a 50+ London blogger at That's Not My Age but also a freelance journalist (she writes for The Guardian and the Financial Times), London university lecturer, former fashion editor on a glossy magazine and a "strong believer that you don’t have to have youth to have style!" Word.

And as you know I love everything British (I keep on dreaming of living in Notting Hill one day! Well, my daughter made the first step as she is studying in London) and I really enjoyed reading her book full of style inspiration and background information but of course also with a good sense of British humour!

With her insight into the fashion scene, Alyson talks about the elements of style and showcases different style tribes from the "casual glamourpuss" to the "old and bolder brigade", gives examples of modern, grown up style heroines as well as brands which reflect that specific style.

Her interviews of inspirational women like Wendy Dagworthy (one of the founders of London Fashion Week) or Teruku Burrell (model at 54 with fabulous curly grey hair!) are brilliant.

And there are "The 10 best kick-ass jacket moments" or "Eight perfect pairs of jeans" but they are honest with personal experience and valuable information.

Fantastic illustrations by Leo Greenfield are the icing on the cake! I highly recommend to visit his website and Instagram account.

Finishing with beauty and lifestyle tips, London (and New York) hotspots, it is a book which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading! I love the mix of a style guide and a personal view on growing older - but far from telling any woman what (not) to wear. For sure Alyson's experience as a blogger over several years and her interactivity with her loyal worldwide readers are reflected in her book too.

I promise you will love this book as much as I do! Not the stereotype fashion and style tips but a substantial and empowering book which is entertaining at the same time.

Stilratgeber... es gibt unzählige und Ihr habt bestimmt auch schon den einen oder anderen gelesen, oder? Meistens geht es um bahnbrechende Erkenntnisse wie "10 essentielle Kleidungsstücke, die in keinem Kleiderschrank fehlen dürfen!" Das Kleine Schwarze, eine klassische weiße Bluse, Bootcut Jeans ... ach, wußtet Ihr auch vorher schon? Ihr tragt keine Kleider? Pech...

Ich gestehe, ich habe einige dieser Bücher und viele davon sind nun ja... überflüssig. Vor ein paar Tagen hat Alyson Walsh, 50+ Bloggerkollegin aus London, ihr Buch Style Forever veröffentlicht und ich durfte es vorab lesen. Und es unterscheidet sich deutlich!
Alyson ist nicht nur "eine von uns", d.h. eine ältere Stilbloggerin aus London, die auf That's Not My Age bloggt, außerdem als freiberufliche Journalistin für The Guardian und die Financial Times schreibt, Vorlesungen an einer Londoner Uni hält und Redakteurin bei einem bekannten englischen Magazin war. Und wichtig - sie ist Verfechterin der These, dass Stil kein Alter kennt! So ist es.

Meine Leserinnen wissen, dass ich riesiger England Fan bin und davon träume, eines Tages in London's Notting Hill zu leben (meine Tochter hat ja bereits den ersten Schritt getan und studiert in London.) Daher habe ich nicht nur Alyson's Buch, sondern auch ihren englischen Humor genossen.

Mit ihren ausgezeichneten Branchenkenntnissen charakterisiert Alyson verschiedene Stilrichtungen von der "casual glamourpuss" bis zur "old and bolder brigade" (sorry, das kann man schwer übersetzen), unterlegt diese mit aktuellen Vertreterinnen des jeweiligen Stils und gibt auch Marken an, die für diese Richtung stehen ohne diese zu "vermarkten"! Das finde ich sehr angenehm und es ist wirklich hilfreich. Dabei achtet sie auf Qualität in einem mittleren Preissegment, ohne ausschließlich die üblichen verdächtigen Designerlabels zu nennen.

Besonders interessiert haben mich die Interviews mit wunderbaren, inspirierenden Frauen wie z.B. Wendy Dagworthy (Mitbegründerin der London Fashion Week) oder Teruku Burrell (54jähriges Model mit wunderschönen grauen Locken).

Dazu tolle Illustrationen von Leo Greenfield, die das "Tüpfelchen auf dem i" sind und das Buch auch visuell sehr ansprechend machen. Mehr gibt es auf seiner website und Instagram Profil. Beauty und Lifestyle Tips, sowie ein paar Insider Empfehlungen für London und New York runden das Ganze perfekt ab!

Ich finde das Buch wirklich klasse und kann es nur empfehlen. Der Mix aus Stil Ratgeber mit persönlichen Erfahrungen ist perfekt gelungen - dabei schreibt Alyson nie mit erhobenem Zeigefinger! Ihre langjährige Bloggererfahrung und Austausch mit weltweiten Leserinnen spielen mit Sicherheit eine große Rolle, dass sie dieses Buch so authentisch schreiben konnte.

Für mich ist es das mit Abstand beste Buch zum Thema Mode und Stil. Wesentlich ehrlicher, realistischer und näher an meinem persönlichen Stil als alle, die ich bisher gelesen habe. Und äußerst unterhaltsam dazu! Vor allem, weil Alyson immer wieder betont, dass Stil eben nichts mit dem Alter zu tun hat. Damit kann ich mich identifizieren!

RED TRENCHCOAT

Although the snow is now gone in the centre of town, there is still a bit left in the surrounding area where we took these photos. It is getting warmer now but we still have frost over night which means I stored away my quilted jackets but I am still changing between woolen coats and trenchcoats.

Besides my classic beige one I have the red trenchcoat for a couple of years now (worn hear last year) and they never go out of style.

Sometimes I do need a statement colour and that's definitely the case with this bright red! My mum never wears red (although it suits her!) and I think because of that influence, I never wore this colour until only a couple of years ago.

ROTER TRENCHCOAT

Der Schnee ist jetz im Ort und zum Glück auch weitestgehend in meinem Garten verschwunden und macht Krokussen Platz, aber in manchen Gegenden außerhalb liegt doch noch einiges!
Meine Daunenmäntel habe ich in den Keller geräumt, aber zur Zeit wechsle ich noch zwischen Wollmänteln und Trenchcoats ab, denn nachts haben wir noch Frost. Ich habe einen klassisch beigen und diesen knallroten schon seit ein paar Jahren (letztes Jahr hier gezeigt), aber sie sind einfach zeitlos.

Und manchmal muss man einfach eine auffällige Farbe sein! Meine Mama trägt nie Rot, obwohl es ihr sehr gut stehen würde und vermutlich dadurch bedingt, habe ich mein Leben lang kein Rot getragen. Erst vor wenigen Jahren habe ich diese Farbe für mich entdeckt!

BLUE TUNIC

Winter finally seemed to be over and the March sun has been strong enough to get rid of the remaining snow. But then I woke up to another white landscape last weekend and the forecast doesn't look promising at all.
Also I am spending these days at home as I came down with a cold and a throat infection. It is an up and down at this time of the year!

I am so ready for spring and the colours of my silky blue tunic from ESPRIT let me dream of the sea, sunshine and summer holidays! Until then I am pairing them with my favourite leather leggings. This is another mix of clothes from different seasons to show you how to make the most of them. With our unpredictable weather I'd never make full use of my lighter clothes otherwise.

I think this boho tunic will also be a great match with my white linen trousers or the flared jeans which I recently ordered from Mango. Unfortunately they are far too long for my 5'4... another job for my seamstress before I can show you that trendy combination.

BLAUE TUNIKA

Der Winter schien sich endlich zurückgezogen zu haben und die Märzsonne war stark genug, den letzten Schnee schmelzen zu lassen. Leider war am Sonntagmorgen doch wieder alles Weiß und die Vorhersage für diese Woche hört sich auch gar nicht gut an.
Dazu kommt, dass ich momentan mit einer Erkältung, Hals- und Kopfschmerzen zuhause bin... diese Jahreszeit mit ihrem ständigen Wetterwechsel hat so viele erwischt!

Ich während ich also weiter von einem richtigen Frühling träume, denke ich mit meiner neuen, fließenden Tunika von ESPRIT in kräftigen Blautönen sogar schon voraus an Sommer, Meer und Urlaub! Bis dahin trage ich sie mit meiner Lieblings Lederleggings, denn so ein saisonaler Mix ist mir wichtig. Ich möchte meine leichtere Kleidung nicht nur für die warmen Sommermonate aufheben, sondern möglichst viel davon haben und trage sie daher in verschiedenen Kombinationen.

Perfekt wird sie dann nämlich zu meiner weißen, weiten Leinenhose oder meiner neuen ausgestellten Jeans passen, die ich mir neulich bei Mango bestellt habe. Leider ist sie derart lang, dass sie mir meine Schneiderin gerade erst passend machen muss, bevor ich sie Euch in einer aktuellen Boho Kombination zeigen kann.

LONG WAISTCOAT

Winter... a never endling story this year. After a heavy storm over Germany, I woke up to a snow storm yesterday and it is still snowing. I am glad I am driving a SUV and still have my winter tyres - our rule is to keep them "from October to Easter".

Finally I have recovered from a bad cold and want thank you so much for all your kind get well wishes over on Instagram!
The ongoing bad weather prevented us from taking photos outside and you don't want to see me wearing my odd down coat and winter boots over this outfit, do you?

For a long time I haven't bought anything newfrom H&M, simply because the quality, fabrics and colours didn't appeal to me. However, when I saw this long waistcoat - something I was looking for quite a while - I thought I'd give it a try. And I was surprised when I received it: I really love the heavy quality (it is fully lined) and the visible stitching. For now I have paired it with black but I am looking forward to a spring/summer styling with lighter colours.

ÄRMELLOSE WESTE

Winter... hört er denn nie auf?Nach dem heftigen Sturm kam jetzt auch noch Schnee dazu!! Ich, die Winter sowieso nicht ausstehen kann und dann auch noch jetzt, Anfang April?! Wie gut, dass mein Auto einen Allrad hat und ich meine Winterreifen noch drauf habe. Nicht ohne Grund gibt es die "von Oktober bis Ostern" Regel...

Endlich habe ich meine heftige Erkältung überstanden. Ganz lieben Dank für Eure zahlreichen Aufmunterungen und guten Wünsche auf Instagram!
Nachdem momentan Außenaufnahmen unmöglich sind - es sei denn, Ihr findet meinen alten Daunenmantel, Winterstiefel, Fäustlinge und dicken Schal inspirierend ;-) gibt es heute mal Innenfotos.

Schon lange war ich auf der Suche nach einem langen, ärmellosen Blazer und wurde doch tatsächlich bei H&M fündig! Ich habe dort lange nichts mehr gekauft, einfach weil mich die Qualität, Stoffe und Farben in letzter Zeit überhaupt nicht angesprochen haben. In der neuen Kollektion gibt es jedoch einige Teile, die mich interessierten und ich war von der Qualität dieser langen Weste wirklich überrascht - ein fester, dennoch schön fallender Stoff, voll gefüttert und hübsche, sichtbare Absteppungen. Kombiniert habe ich sie mit Schwarz, aber wenn sich das Wetter hoffentlich doch noch eines Besseren besinnen sollte, möchte ich sie Euch gerne noch in einer hellen Variante mit Weiß zeigen.

She keeps on impressing and fascinating me! I do not only hope but I am convinced, we will see a lot more of Lyn in the international fashion scene and magazines in future!

Ich bin immer wieder beeindruckt von Lyn's minimalistischem, unheimlich ausdrucksstarken Stil in Schwarz, Weiß und manchmal Grau. Sie liebt japanische Designer und es gibt wirklich wenige Frauen, die derart authentisch gekleidet sind. Übrigens ist Lyn, eine Universitätsprofessorin in New York, eine wunderbar warmherzige Frau und ich fühle immer wieder von ihren Kommentaren zu meinem Fotos sehr geehrt! Ich bin überzeugt, Lyn hat noch eine große Zukunft in der Modeszene und Magazinen.

SPRING HAS ARRIVED

My wellbeing extremely depends on the weather and you have heard me complaining about our long winter and the amount of snow many times... (yes, I'll move to another country when I retire or at least spend the winters somewhere else!) Finally temperatures are increasing and our snow is melting which is about time in April!

Spring makes me feel like a different person and I couldn't resist enjoying my first iced coffee in my favourite café with Jasmin yesterday!

AS LIGHT AS A FEATHER

With our lovely weather, my new spring feather coat makes its first appearance. It is from Villa Smilla, a small independant shop with a lovely selection of clothes, deco, design and household goods. Unfortunately I live too far from their store but they have an online shop and offer worldwide delivery.

Temperatures are still chilly in the mornings and I paired it with my waxed trousers from NYDJ and leather booties but can't wait to wear the coat in combination with lighter trousers or a pencil skirt and open shoes soon!

My blouse from Mango comes with the long necklace and I got it on sale in white and in black. When I like something, I often buy it in 2 different colours.

In view of skirts and bare legs, I have started with a light fake tan and I'd love to hear your tipps and experiences. It should give a smooth tan in a natural tone and soak in fast (I hate it when it feels sticky on my skin) and if ever possible without the typical smell. Any recommendations?

ENDLICH FRÜHLING

Mit schönem Wetter hebt sich wohl bei den meisten Menschen auch die Stimmung, ich arbeite sogar lieber, wenn die Sonne scheint als bei Regen, einfach weil ich extrem wetterabhängig bin. Ich habe ja hier oft genug über unseren langen Winter und den vielen Schnee geschimpft... (ja, irgendwann werde ich tatsächlich in einem wärmen Klima leben oder zumindest den Winter woanders verbringen, das steht fest!) Und jetzt im April ist es hier selbst für begeisterte Wintersportler Zeit, die Mountainbikes herzurichten!

Sobald der Frühling kommt, lebe ich wieder auf und gestern habe ich mit Jasmin, meiner Fotografin den ersten Eiskaffee in unserem Lieblingscafé genossen. Auf Instagramposte ich übrigens täglich Fotos.

FEDERLEICHT

Mit den steigenden Temperaturen, konnte ich auch erstmals meinen neuen leichten Frühlingsmantel mit Federdruck tragen. Ich habe ihn bei Villa Smilla gekauft, einem individuellen Shop mit ausgesuchten Kleidungsstücken und Dekoartikeln. Leider wohne ich nicht in der Nähe des Ladens, aber es gibt ja einen Onlineshop, in dem ich bestellt habe.

Da es morgens noch sehr frisch ist, habe ich den Mantel mit meiner beschichteten Jeans von NYDJ und Lederstiefeletten kombiniert, aber ich hoffe, bald geht es mit leichteren Hosen oder einem Rock und offenen Schuhen! Meine Bluse mit daran befestigter Kette habe ich übrigeens bei Mango im Sale gefunden und gleich in Weiß und in Schwarz bestellt. Wenn mir etwas sehr gut gefällt, kaufe ich es oft in 2 Farben.

Im Hinblick auf Röcke und nackte Beine helfe ich diesen schon mal mit einem leichten Selbstbräuner auf die Sprünge... für ultimative Tipps bin ich dankbar!

Er sollte nicht riechen (gibt es das?), leicht einziehen (ich hasse das klebrige Gefühl auf der Haut) und natürlich eine zarte, gleichmäßige und keine orangene Tönung geben. Zuviel verlangt? Ich bin gespannt auf Eure Erfahrungen!

EMBROIDERED BOHO TUNIC

Recently I have ordered a few blouses and tunics from Mango as I needed to stock up on tops. For a trendy seventies style, I can wear this embroidered tunic with flared jeans (I will show you my new ones in my next post), platform sandals and a long necklace. Unfortunately it is only available in a small size now, but below please find some lovely options.

For an office look I have paired it with straight trousers, peeptoes and a classic blazer. And after work I simply swopped the blazer for my black leather jacket which I have last worn here for a more relaxed look. I really love to restyle my clothes according to the occasion!

BESTICKTE BOHO TUNIKA

Kürzlich habe ich mir ein paar Oberteile bei Mango bestellt, darunter diese schwarze, bestickte Tunika. Leider ist sie jetzt nur noch in einer kleinen Größe erhältlich, aber ich zeige Euch schöne Alternativen.

Ich kann sie im aktuellen Siebziger Jahre Stil mit ausgestellten Jeans tragen (die ich Euch auch im nächsten Post vorstelle), dazu passen Plateausansalen und eine lange Boho Kette. Ins Büro habe ich sie allerdings wie heute mit einer schmalen Hose und Peeptoes getragen. Dazu ein klassischer Blazer, den ich nach Büroschluss für einen lässigeren Look einfach gegen meine schwarze Lederjacke ausgetauscht, die ich Euch zuletzt hier gezeigt habe. Ich spiele gerne mit verschiedenen Stylings, jeweils passend zum Anlass!

FLARES + FRINGES + TASSEL NECKLACE

This season it's all about flared jeans and fringes and it is a trend I am happy to follow! But as always I love to make a trend my own and paired my new light blue jeans from Mango and my suede bag with a blazer to give it a classic touch. I have mentioned before that I am a huge fan of Instagram and that's where I found Tanja, the owner of Vintage Fashion Design. When she posted a photo of this lovely fringe bag in a warm cognac colour I instantly had to order it! It is not the first time and I will show you my other bag shortly. You will never see me wearing any outfit without jewellery. For me it completes a look and adds or highlights a certain style. Today I show you my new handmade iceblue crystal and silver tassel necklace and the matching bracelet from eternal collection's new contemporary "moda" line. FRANSEN + SCHLAGJEANS + KRISTALLKETTE

Diese Saison dreht sich alles um Schlaghosen und Fransen - zwei Trends, die ich gerne aufnehme, allerdings nicht ohne sie meinem persönlichen Stil anzupassen. Daher habe ich meine neue hellblaue Jeans von Mango mit einem klassischen Blazer kombiniert. Ich hatte ja schon erwähnt, dass ich ein großer Fan von Instagram bin und regelmäßig Fotos poste, im Schnitt einmal täglich. Dort habe ich auch Tanja kennengelernt, die Inhaberin von Vintage Fashion Design. Als sie ein Foto dieser wunderschönen cognacfarbenen Wildledertasche postete, konnte ich nicht widerstehen und habe sie sofort bestellt! Ohne Schmuck gibt es bei mir kein Outfit, er gehört für mich einfach dazu, rundet einen Look ab oder gibt ihm einen besonderen Touch. Heute zeige ich Euch meine neue handgearbeitete eisblaue Silberkette und das dazu passende Armband aus der neuen Linie "moda" von eternal collection. Das Familienunternehmen aus Schottland stellt eigenen Schmuck her, der auch individuell angepasst werden kann. FRESH SPRING LOOK WITH BODEN

I took advantage of the sunshine we had these days and spent as much time as possible outside. Besides gardening it was lovely sitting on my terrace reading and just enjoying the nice spring weather. That also gave my legs a chance for a light tan to get them ready for more skirts and dresses over the next months!

The lovely weather encouraged me to wear this spring look from Boden with its unique style: Colourful graphic prints yet classy and easy to combine with pieces I already have in my wardrobe. The blue A-line skirt is a great choice for summer and although I am only 5'4 I ordered the "long" version as I prefer a length that doesn't end above my knees.

My suede Lara Heels which come in 3 different colours are incredibly comfortable even with a higher heel. They go equally well with a skirt as a pair of ankle trousers when it is a bit colder (I will show you another look soon). I also had an eye on these popular Alice shoeswhich come in a high, mid and low heel - brilliant idea, isn't it? My fellow blogger Lizzy over at What Lizzy Loves recently wore them with a lovely navy dress.

FRÜHLINGSLOOK MIT BODEN

Nachdem das Wetter diese Woche bei uns richtig schön war, konnte ich Zeit im Garten verbringen, habe meine Terrasse mit ein paar Topfpflanzen dekoriert und zum ersten Mal Rasen gemäht! Allerdings sind Regen und kühleres Wetter vorhergesagt und ich muss wohl meine Blümchen nachts wieder reinstellen. Es dauert hier im Süden doch immer länger, bis es wirklich warm wird.

Ganz langsam bekommen meine Beine ein bisschen Farbe und ich trage wieder Röcke und Kleider! Da passt mein neuer Frühlingslook von Boden doch gut, oder?

Das Britische Label steht für Farben und Muster, aber nicht einfach knallbunt und flippig, sondern eher mit einer klassischen Note.

Genau das finde ich super, denn so kann ich vorhandene Sachen in meinem Kleiderschrank mit neuen Teilen einen frischen Look geben und dabei meinen persönlichen Stil beibehalten.

Den gepunkteten Rock in A-Linie habe ich mit einem dunkelblauen Jeansblazer und weißem Hemd kombiniert. Praktisch finde ich, dass es die Röcke in verschiedenen Längen gibt. Obwohl ich nur 1,63 groß bin, habe ich ihn in "lang" bestellt, da mir eine Länge bis zum Knie wichtig ist und der Rock dann auch im Sitzen nicht hochrutscht.

Meine dunkelblauen Lara Wildlederschuhe, die es übrigens in 3 Farben gibt, sind trotz der Absatzhöhe unglaublich bequem. Ich habe immer Probleme mit meinen Ballen, aber die hochgeschlossene Form passt sich wunderbar an den Fuß an und ich habe auch nach einem ganzen Tag in den neuen Schuhen keine schmerzenden Füße gehabt - Test bestanden :-)

Bloggerin Nikki von Midlife Chic, die ich im November als meine Lady of the Month vorgestellt hatte, ist übrigens auch ein großer Fan von Boden und zeigt auf ihrem Blog zahlreiche schicke Looks!

ASYMMETRIC MIDI SKIRT AND A STATEMENT NECKLACE

I love to mix styles but I am not a fan of asymmetry at all. My zodiac sign is libra and for me that means I feel uncomfortable when things are out of balance. I was looking for a midi skirt for quite a while; not a tight pencil skirt but something fuller. On the other hand it shouldn't be too wide around my hips... quite a challenge! Then I saw this black and white Zara skirt with nude side parts and was quite keen on it - until I realised it had an asymmetric cut!! I was thinking of taking it to my seamstress and have it altered. On the other hand, I like the longer length, so I will give it some time and then reconsider.

SILVER BOHO ETHNO NECKLACE

Talking of a style mix: My silver statement necklace from Mango is my favourite piece of jewellery at moment. It perfectly matches the boho seventies trend but it also goes well with a clean or classic look. I have recently worn it with black skinnies and a black blouse to a concert and it will instantly become the eyecatcher of your outfit!
As you can see, I have altered it a bit and taken off the top layer as I felt it was too much and and too heavy. Glad I did and definitely prefer it like this.

Jewellery plays an essential part in my style and I feel naked leaving the house without adding some pieces to my outfits. There might be a classic pearl necklace one day, a chunky statement piece the next and fine golden jewellery the following day. I want my necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings to underline my style or add a certain touch to my outfits.

ASYMMETRISCHER MIDI ROCK UND ETHNO KETTE

So sehr ich den Mix unterschiedlicher Stilrichtungen mag, so wenig kann ich mit Asymmetrie anfangen. Ich bin Waage und bei mir muss immer alles in Balance sein, sonst werde ich ganz nervös!
Schon seit längerem war ich auf der Suche nach einem Midirock, aber keinem Bleistifrock, sondern einem weiteren. Andererseits durfte er um die Hüften nicht in Falten gelegt sein, da das bei meiner Körpergröße nicht vorteilhaft ist. Und endlich gab es einen tollen, fließenden Rock in neutralen Farben bei Zara. Aber - er ist unterschiedlich lang! Erst wollte ich ihn von meiner Schneiderin auf gleiche Länge kürzen lassen, aber gerade die Wadenlänge gefiel mir ja so gut... also werde ich mich vielleicht doch daran gewöhnen?

Thema Stilmix: Meine silberne Ethnokette von Mangoist momentan mein Lieblingsschmuckstück! Natürlich passt sie perfekt zum aktuellen Boho Siebziger Look, aber ich trage sie auch gerne mit klassischen oder neutralen Outfits. Kürzlich hatte ich sie abends zu einer schwarzen Skinny und schwarzer Bluse an. Sie ist einfach ein richtiger Eyecatcher. Ich habe sie übrigens etwas umgeändert und zusätzliche Kettenglieder oberhalb entfernt, weil mir das zu viel und zu schwer war (und sie ist jetzt noch sehr massiv!)

Es gibt kein Outfit, das ich nicht mit Schmuck komplettieren würde, ohne fühle ich mich nackt, so als ob ich etwas vergessen hätte - dabei bin ich nicht auf eine Richtung festgelegt. Das können lange Perlenketten sein, am nächsten Tag ganz filigraner Schmuck wie hier von stella & dotoder auch auffällige Statement Ohringe für abends. Wichtig ist mir, dass meine Ketten, Ohrringe, Ärmbänder und Ringe aufeinander abgestimmt sind und dem Look eine bestimmte Richtung oder Note geben.

ELEGANT PARTY LOOK IN FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS

How do you dress for a party in spring when the weather is cool and rainy, a summery maxi dress isn't quite appropriate and a Little Black Dress is too formal?

That's what I was facing last week and went for my favourite faux leather leggings and paired them with a printed sleeveless top. Sometimes during the evening I wanted to get some fresh air or sat by the fireplace outside. Then I threw on my blazer - and also took my woolen cape which is always a cosy yet stylish way to stay warm (shown here).

This is a more elegant version of a printed top and the quote is not that obvious but looks more like part of the graphic prints. I especially love the open double layer on one side.

ELEGANTER PARTY LOOK IN KUNSTLEDER LEGGINGS

Was zieht man im Frühling auf eine Party an, wenn es kühl und regnerisch ist? Ich hoffe ja immer noch, im Sommer endlich mal ein Maxikleid auf einer Gartenparty zu tragen, aber bis dahin wird's wohl noch dauern... und ein Kleines Schwarzes war in dem Fall auch nicht angemessen, es wäre zu förmlich gewesen.

So habe ich mich für meine schwarzen Kunstlederleggings entschieden (sie tragen sich so so angenehm, ich hoffe, sie halten ewig!!) und dazu ein bedrucktes Top kombiniert. Und wenn man zwischendurch mal ein bisschen frische Luft auf der Terrasse schnappen oder sich ans Feuer setzen möchte, hatte ich meinen Blazer dabei. Außerdem nehme ich gerne mein Wollcape mit (hier gezeigt), das an kühlen Abenden unheimlich praktisch ist.

Das hier ist kein Top mit einem plakativen Spruch, sondern er fügt sich gut in das grafische Muster ein und wirkt mit dem Silberdruck auch viel eleganter. Außerdem ist der Stoff so fließend - es war ein bisschen windig und die doppelte Lage wehte schön im Wind!

NEUTROGENA 10 DAYS-FASCIA-PILATES-CHALLENGE *

If you follow me on Instagramyou know I started running again in order to get active and fit. At 52, I notice a change of my body and a lack of agility especially caused by my deskwork (and a lot of hours doing blogwork at night don't help either...) I eat healthy and have changed to a vegetarian nutrition 1,5 years ago but too often I found excuses for skipping the gym. Actually there is no excuse as great running trails literally start in front of my house. But I have also noticed that I need to pay more attention to stretching exercises before and after a run.

Fascia are a band of fibrous connective tissue enveloping, separating, or binding together muscles, organs and other soft structures in our body. Several years ago I had a cranio-sacral therapy by an osteopath and heard about the importance of fasciae for the first time. Only now I learned about them again when Neutrogena contacted me regarding their new 10 Days Fascia-Pilates-Challenge which was a great opportunity for me to try out various pilates exercises.

There are 10 different video exercises on Neutrogena Challenge - some of them I don't find too easy and think I need to repeat them quite often... We have taken photos of my efforts which are nothing close to the perfection and easiness as shown by the instructors but they are authentic and not photoshoped ;-)
Pilates is a great option to balance my running and since I prefer to workout by myself, I can even do the exercises at home. I can see and feel there is room for improvement but I am proud I have started this challenge!

VISIBLY RENEW

After my shower I used the bodylotion of Neutrogena's Visibly Renew regime. Often lotions are not rich enough for dry skin but this one is more like a cream, pleasant on my skin yet not greasy which is a great advantage especially in summer.

Once I have finished this challenge, I will tell you about my experience with pilates - and I will reveal if I am still having a muscle hangover ;-)

NEUTROGENA 10 TAGE-FASZIEN-PILATES-CHALLENGE *

Wer mir auf Instagram folgt, weiß, dass ich wieder mit Sport angefangen habe und damit, mich mehr um meinen Körper und meine Fitness zu kümmern, denn ich merke doch, dass sich mein Körper mit Anfang 50 ändert und ich fühle mich steif. Meine Ernährung habe ich schon vor 1,5 Jahren umgestellt, ich bin Vegetarierin, aber bei meiner Schreibtischtätigkeit (und vielen Stunden Blogarbeit zuhause!) fehlen mir Bewegung und Beweglichkeit. Nachdem ich noch vor wenigen Jahren sehr fit war und viel gelaufen bin, habe ich Sport schleifen lassen und dabei ist es so wichtig, aktiv zu sein! Ich habe die schönsten Laufstrecken direkt vor der Haustür und muss wirklich nur loslaufen. Was ich außerdem gemerkt habe - ich dehne mich zu wenig, sowohl vorher als auch nachher.

Faszien - das kollagene Bindegewebsnetzwerk - sind für ihre dem ganzen Körper Form und Elastizität gebende netzartige Struktur bekannt. Von Faszien hörte ich erstmals vor einigen Jahren, als ich bei einer Therapeutin für cranio-sacrale Osteopathie war. Ich erinnere mich gut an ihre Fingerkuppen, mit denen sie mich im Nacken- und Wirbelsäulenbereich behandelte - eine richtige Wohltat! Erst jetzt kam ich wieder mit dem Thema Faszien in Berührung als ich von Neutrogena angesprochen wurde, ob ich Interesse an ihrer aktuellen 10 Tage-Faszien-Pilates-Challenge habe. Das Angebot an diesem Programm teilzunehmen, war ideal für mich, den Einstieg zu finden.

Auf der Neutrogena Challenge stehen 10 verschiedene Übungen per Video zum Download bereit, die es zum Teil echt in sich haben... daher gilt für mich: dranbleiben!
Ein paar der Übungen habe ich schon gemacht und für Euch fotografiert, noch ein weites Stück entfernt von Perfektion gepaart mit Leichtigkeit, wie sie von den erfahrenen Trainerinnen gezeigt werden, aber echt und unretouchiert ;-) Man spürt und sieht, wenn man zu lange nichts in der Richtung gemacht hat... da geht noch einiges!

Pilates ist für mich ein idealer Ausgleich zum Laufen. Ich mache Sport übrigens lieber allein und zeitlich unabhängig. Diese Übungen kann ich sogar zuhause machen, einfach eine Matte auf den Boden und fertig!

VISIBLY RENEW PFLEGE

Als Ergänzung und nach dem Duschen gibt es von Neutrogena (ja, die mit der norwegischen Handcreme, die kennt nämlich jeder) die Visibly Renew Pflegelinie. Bei Körpermilch denke ich oft, sie ist für trockene Haut nicht reichhaltig genug. Das ist hier nicht der Fall, es ist eher eine cremige Mischung, die sehr gut einzieht und pflegt, ohne fettig zu sein - ich finde sie sehr angenehm auf der Haut, auch im Sommer bei wärmeren Temperaturen.

Nach Abschluss der Challenge werde ich Euch berichten, wie es mir ergangen ist... und ob ich noch immer Muskelkater habe ;-)
